Peer Review Process

Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah is applying the double blind review process. The decision to determine the appropriate reviewers is right of editor. The approved gallery proof of manuscript will early view online as early as possible upon received from author and final proof reading by editor in chief.

Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are not allowed. A software tool may be used so that the submitted articles are screened for plagiarism. Detection of overlapping and similar text is used there and so quotations and appropriate citations have to be used whenever required. the author is only to submit a manuscript that is free from plagiarism and academically malpractices. The editor, however, checks each article before its publication by Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah Editorial Board.

 

Publication Frequency

Seurune is published bianually in January and July every year.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Team of the Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore sets out the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) when plagiarism is identified in an article submitted for publication in the Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah.

Plagiarism is the intentional or unintentional act of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or value for a scientific work, citing some or all of the work and/or scientific work of another party recognized as its scientific work, without stating the source appropriately and adequately.

Before sending the script, please do a plagiarism check. Manuscript will received by the editor / editor if there is plagiarism ≤25%

For that, then:
The article must be original, has never been published, and not in the process of waiting for publication elsewhere. Material taken verbally from other sources needs to be clearly identified so that it differs from the original text.

If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the review of the article
and will approve the action in accordance with the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines: Papers submitted to the Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah will be checked for plagiarism using grammarly detection software Turnitin (www.turnitin.com) since July 2018.

Level

  • Plagiarized some short sentences from other articles without mentioning the source. Action: Authors are given warnings and requests to change the text and quote correctly.
  • Plagiarized most other articles without proper citations and did not mention the source. Action: Submitted articles are rejected for publication in the Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah and the Author may be sanctioned for not being allowed publication in the Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah.
  • All article authors are responsible for the content of the articles they submit to the Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah. If the article is plagiarism, then all authors will be subject to the same action.
  • If the Author is proven to submit a manuscript to the Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah by simultaneously submitting also to other Journals, and this overlap is found during the reviewer process or after publication, then it is given the action according to point 2 above.
  • If plagiarism is found outside the above rules, the editor of the Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah has the right to give sanctions action in accordance with the policy of the editor's team.

 

Publication Ethics

PUBLICATION ETHICS

Background

Authors could refer to International Standards for Editors and Authors  (http://publicationethics.org/ international-standards-editors-and-authors) by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) for policies that are not stated in this instuctions.

Submission declaration and verification

  • Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and its publication has been approved by all authors (if any) and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out.
  • If accepted, the authors are not allowed to publish the article elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright-holder.

Contributors

Each author is required to declare his or her individual contribution to the article: all authors must have materially participated in the research and/or article preparation, so roles for all authors should be described. The statement that all authors have approved the final article should be true and included in the disclosure.

Publication and Authorship

All  persons  listed  as  authors  should  qualify  for authorship. Such authorship should be limited to persons who have contributed significantly to the conception, design, execution, data  acquisition, data analysis or interpretation of the manuscript. All other persons who have  participated  in  certain  important  aspects  of  the research but do not qualify as authors, then they should be acknowledged. Authorship is a responsibility of the corresponding author; he or she should ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included in the manuscript. The corresponding author, on behalf of all co-authors, should submit a form stating that all of them have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to submit it for publication.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are obliged to follow in peer review process set by Seurune, Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah. Authors are  responsible  to provide original and accurate data (no plagiarism, no fraudulent data). Concerning the manuscript submitted, and to provide the data when they are requested. The submitted manuscript should not be under consideration or accepted for publication elsewhere. Where parts of the  data  have been published elsewhere, the sources have to be acknowledged or cited accordingly. When reproducing data from other sources, proper citation and permission are  required. Authors should ensure that studies involving animals are performed according to animal ethics and welfare. Any potential conflict of interest has to be declared. Authors are requested to be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are requested to assist in improving the quality of the manuscript through an objective review process within a scheduled period of time, and to contribute to the decision-making process on the manuscript. If reviewers find any published or submitted content similar to that under review, the editor has to be informed. Reviewers should have no conflict  of  interest  with respect to the research, the authors and/or the research funders. Any confidentiality of information supplied by the editor or author should be maintained.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors have the complete responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article. They should have no conflict of interest with regard to articles they accept or reject. Editors should be  objective  and  fair when conducting their duties without making any discrimination on gender, ethnic, religion, political view or geographical origin of the authors. Editors should also accept manuscripts on the basis of academic merit and without commercial influence. Anonymity of reviewers should be preserved by editors.

Publishing Ethics Issues

Authors,  reviewers  and  editors  should  maintain the integrity of the academic record during the whole process of publication. Business needs should be precluded from compromising intellectual and ethical standards.

 

 

Author and Editing Fee Policy

Seurune: Jurnal Psikologi Unsyiah DOES NOT CHARGE fees for any submission, article processing (APCs), and publication of the selected reviewed manuscripts. Journal subscription is also open to any individual without any subscription charges.

All published manuscripts will be available for viewing and download from the journal portal for free.
